Description

This is " Gruff the Buff ". As most of my paintings do, this started out as something else... a bear cub. When a painting isn't capturing the emotion or feeling I wanted it to its best to start over and paint something I love, and I love bison. In this painting I experimented with gold leaf to bring out the highlights and give it a more modern feel with and old subject. I love doing paintings like this one because when a painting looks better up close you know that time was put into it. I hope this painting makes you feel happy and content- those are the emotions I feel from this:)
